LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Herb Thyme Farms, Inc. here has acquired the business operations of McCormick Fresh Herbs, LLC., in a deal that will integrate the fresh herb farms, facilities, employees and management team of McCormick Fresh Herbs into Herb Thyme Farms.
"The acquisition, combined with our USDA and Kosher certified organic acreage and production facilities, all in the United States, will give us more diversity and increased production to handle the growing demand for fresh culinary herbs and flowers," said Raju Boligala, president and c.e.o. of Herb Thyme. The deal further enables Herb Thyme to expand its organic production, "to take care of increasing retailer and consumer interest in organic herbs," said Boligala, noting that it also allows, "more domestic growing capacity to supply safer products to our customers grown on our own farms in six different microclimatic areas."
McCormick Fresh Herbs' greenhouses and totally controlled growing technologies will be integrated into Herb Thyme Farms' extensive agricultural operations that include six separate farms with over 500 acres of farmland with several million square feet of seasonal greenhouses.
This acquisition, together with the acquisitions of New England Herb Co. and Quail Mountain Herbs, broadens and strengthens Herb Thyme Farms, Inc.'s ability to provide domestically grown conventional and organic fresh herb products to customers across the United States, Boligala added.
