CHICAGO -- The Network of Executive Women (NEW) said yesterday that it would celebrate its fifth anniversary in 2006 by building membership, boosting sponsor participation, expanding member services, and furthering the cause of gender diversity in CPG/retail management.
"This will be a exciting year for us," said NEW president Kimberly Betts, a manager in human capital for Deloitte, LLP, in a statement. "We will be redoubling our efforts to serve the companies and people who have supported us in our first five years, and working hard to expand our outreach to new people."
The network's plans include increasing programming for senior executives (v.p. and higher), extending its "Women of Color program" to Latinas, expanding regional events to new markets, introducing an "Express Coaching" program for members, and creating an online "Mentor Center."
NEW is joining forces with sponsor companies to ensure maximum "activation" of their associates into network activities and secure sustainable funding for the organization. Additionally, a "Friends of NEW" program is in the works to offer nonsponsoring companies and individuals a new way to support the network and its mission
Among NEW's 2005 accomplishments were record attendance at the NEW Leadership Summit in Atlanta, record increases in sponsorship and membership, and more improvements in the network's Web site.
