COMMERCE, Calif. -- Extreme value chain 99 Cents Only Stores is going high-tech with the grand opening of its latest store here tomorrow: The popular Apple iPod Nano that holds more than 499 songs will be sold for only 99 cents to the first 9 customers.
This offering will be followed by 99-cent scooters, which will be available for the next 99 customers, and then by various 99 cent offers during succeeding days on items that include a non-stick pot set, designer pen, and clocks.
The new store is 23,000 square feet, and like the chain's other stores sells name-brand consumables at a strong value. 99 Cents only has 228 stores in California, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada.
