SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Price Chopper here will hold a grand opening ceremony Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. of its 160,000-square-foot frozen food distribution center, the largest in the capital district, in the Rotterdam Industrial Park. Last January the Northeast regional grocer revealed plans to construct the $16 million facility.

The fully functional DC, which has already begun servicing frozen food distribution for the entire Price Chopper chain, was built to replace satellite freezer warehouses in Colonie and Waterford, N.Y. that were operating at or near capacity.

Along with Price Chopper president and c.e.o. Neil M. Golub, attendees at the grand opening ceremony will include Galesi Group c.o.o. Dave Buicko, Rotterdam town supervisor John Paolino, Schenectady County commissioner of planning and economic development Ray Gillen, and other town and county officials.
