CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Robert Mariano, chairman and c.e.o. of Milwaukee-based Roundy's, has joined the 12-member board of directors of Rite Aid Corp., the drug store chain based here.
In addition to Mariano, two other executives joined the chain's board: Joseph B. Anderson, 62, chairman and c.e.o. of TAG Holdings, LLC, a holding company for various manufacturing, service and technology-based businesses in North America and Asia; and Marcy Syms, 54, c.e.o. of SYMS Corp., a chain of off-price clothing stores with 37 stores in 16 states.
In other news, Rite Aid last week reported a second quarter loss of $1.6 million, attributable to sluggish pharmacy sales and rising expenses. Rite Aid operates approximately 3,350 stores in 28 states and the District of Columbia.
