SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, Calif. -- Earthbound Farm, the nation's largest grower and shipper of organic produce based here, said it has selected a new location for its forward distribution center in Indianapolis, Indiana and opened a new facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
In Indiana, Earthbound Farm's new forward distribution center will be co-located at Indianapolis Fruit, a refrigerated food distributor and longtime Earthbound Farm customer. Operating a distribution center with Indianapolis Fruit will enable Earthbound Farm to utilize the company's distribution expertise to better service customers in the Midwest. Indianapolis Fruit has been open since 1985 and has 70,000-square-feet of racked refrigerated warehouse space.
In Atlanta, Earthbound Farm has partnered up with Captrans Logistics, a refrigerated food distributor, and will leverage the latter's warehousing logistic expertise to better service its customers in the South. The Captrans Logistics Atlanta facility has been open since 2003 and has 18,000-square-feet of racked refrigerated warehouse space.
