    Festival Foods Summer Promotion Boosts Web Site Traffic

    MADISON, Wis. -- Skogen's Festival Foods drove a 20 percent increase in unique visits to its Web site thanks to a summer promotion in which visitors who used the site to search for recipes could also win prizes.

    MADISON, Wis. -- Skogen's Festival Foods drove a 20 percent increase in unique visits to its Web site thanks to a summer promotion in which visitors who used the site to search for recipes could also win prizes.

    From July 3 through July 20, Festival Foods customers who used the store's Web site, http://www.festfoods.com, to search for recipes could also enter a contest for summer prizes, including a Kawasaki Jet Ski.

    The grocer's Web site offers a database of more than 60,000 recipes. Customers searched for and printed recipes, filled out an entry form on the recipe, and dropped it off at their local Festival Foods store.

    The Web site, built and managed by Minneapolis-based Grocery Shopping Network (GSN), helps visitors organize their shopping by providing interactive weekly circulars, shopping lists, recipes, coupons, and promotions.

    Since the summer promotion started, unique site visits increased 20 percent, new enrollments to the site are up over 100 percent and the number of customers accessing the recipe database increased 300 percent.
