MINNEAPOLIS -- Online grocer SimonDelivers, Inc. this week launched Saturday delivery across the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
The decision to deliver Saturdays was driven by customer feedback on the grocer's current and planned initiatives. "We have heard loud and clear that Saturday delivery was important to them," said Jim Dorcy, v.p. of sales and marketing. "This is one of the largest company-wide initiatives in SimonDelivers' history."
SimonDelivers employs a fleet of over 75 delivery vehicles -- covering a region that exceeds 3,200 square miles, and provides the majority of its customers with a delivery option six days a week. "Operationally we are set for growth," indicated Chris Servais, v.p. of operations. "Our route-based model has proven to be very effective at giving customers many options throughout the week, while providing us the infrastructure that ensures timely delivery of our fresh products."
SimonDelivers also recently upgraded the search engine and new product request features on its Web site.
