    Sampling Sends Sales Spiking for Cub Foods' East Region

    ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. -- Supervalu retailer Cub Foods' East Region, based here, here achieved impressive sales growth via a multitude of in-store sampling events conducted between November 2004 and April 2005, in conjunction with sampling services firm Mass Connections.

    ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. -- Supervalu retailer Cub Foods' East Region, based here, here achieved impressive sales growth via a multitude of in-store sampling events conducted between November 2004 and April 2005, in conjunction with sampling services firm Mass Connections.

    Events were held multiples times each month, and included everything from philanthropic efforts for the American Heart Association down to seasonal "Football Madness" promotions.

    Several events recorded a 600 percent to 1,100 percent increase in sales for products promoted by Mass Connections' event personnel, according to Mass Connections.

    Laura Goldenstein, director of advertising and marketing for Cub East, said, "Mass Connections quickly constructed a customized program that fit our needs -- from in-store execution to reporting. Their attention to detail was outstanding and helped ensure the success of our events."
