    BI-LO/Bruno's Names New Group V.P. of Perishable Marketing

    MAULDIN, S.C. ¿ BI-LO/Bruno's has promoted Michael Yakovsky to the position of group v.p. of perishable marketing.

    MAULDIN, S.C. – BI-LO/Bruno's has promoted Michael Yakovsky to the position of group v.p. of perishable marketing.

    Yakovsky joined Bruno’s in 1999 as v.p. of meat/seafood, and he assumed responsibility for leading the combined BI-LO/Bruno's meat and seafood team last year. He has been in the supermarket industry for more than 33 years and has extensive experience in retail, distribution, production operations, and merchandising. For the past 11 years he has been involved in perishable merchandising and marketing roles.

    BI-LO/Bruno's president and c.e.o. Dean Cohagan said in a statement, "Michael brings a wealth of knowledge of the grocery business to this position, and his cross-functional experience is truly an asset for us."

    BI-LO/Bruno’s operates 455 supermarkets in the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi and employs almost 35,000 associates.
