BOISE, Idaho - First Candle/Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Alliance has joined with Albertsons, Gerber, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and Ross Products, to boost awareness of SIDS during September, Baby Safety Month. More than 2,500 Albertsons, Acme, Jewel-Osco, Osco Drug, Sav-on Drugs, Albertsons-Osco, Albertsons-Sav-On, Super Saver, Grocery Warehouse, Max Foods, Star Markets, and Shaws stores in 37 states will participate in the promotion, "Keeping Families Healthy and Safe, One Baby At A Time."
Customers at any of these stores can get a bilingual nursery door hanger displaying steps parents and caregivers can take to keep babies healthy and safe. Additionally, shoppers can enter a sweepstakes to win a nursery makeover and safety consultation. The campaign team has pledged to donate a percentage of sales from specific products up to $100,000, to support First Candle's programs and services.
Larry Johnston, Albertsons chairman and c.e.o., said in a statement, "We are proud to be the leading national retailer to join with our vendors in support of the programs and services of First Candle with the goal of improving the health and safety of babies around the country."
