    Food Lion Selects Bigfoot Interactive for E-mail CRM Solutions

    SALISBURY, N.C. - Food Lion, LLC, a Delhaize America subsidiary operating more than 1,200 stores, has chosen New York-based Bigfoot Interactive to provide e-mail communications solutions for ongoing customer retention and coupon incentive efforts.

    SALISBURY, N.C. - Food Lion, LLC, a Delhaize America subsidiary operating more than 1,200 stores, has chosen New York-based Bigfoot Interactive to provide e-mail communications solutions for ongoing customer retention and coupon incentive efforts.

    E-mail communications is an extension of Food Lion's customer relationship management program to drive loyalty and satisfaction with consistent delivery of relevant, targeted content and e-coupons. Food Lion will use Bigfoot Interactive's DREAM (Direct Response E-mail Applications Manager) ASP technology platform.

    "Food Lion has developed a weekly, optional e-mail newsletter, full of information and offers that make our customers 'smart shoppers,'" Bill Thomas, dir. of marketing, told Progressive Grocer. "Each newsletter includes time-saving recipes in an easy-to-use format and information about what's new and in season, as well as the week's specials and coupons for things the customer buys."

    Thomas added, "We chose Bigfoot and its DREAM software because they are an industry leader, and their software was able to handle the requirements of our newsletter, which goes live this month."

    Thomas plans to use DREAM to leverage the knowledge the company has about its customers to produce highly relevant, personalized communications that get delivered and build long-term relationships, loyalty, and return on investment.

    Bigfoot Interactive's DREAM technology platform uses a proprietary e-mail relay server, which provides marketers the flexibility to manage and optimize delivery by domain and to adapt to frequently changing ISP requirements on the fly. Additional delivery optimization products and services include an array of suppression, hygiene, monitoring, and consulting services that can be employed and integrated with the DREAM technology platform to form the most comprehensive offering for delivery assurance available.
