PORTLAND, Ore. - Unicru Inc. today announced that Pathmark Stores Inc. has selected its workforce acquisition solution to enhance operations and pursue growth opportunities in the highly competitive Northeastern region. Employing over 25,000 associates, Pathmark will deploy Unicru's solution to all of its 142 stores located in the New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia corridor.
"After much due diligence evaluating the results we wanted from a workforce selection system, we determined Unicru was the best fit to help us lower our operating costs," said Bob Joyce, e.v.p. of human resources at Pathmark. "We're aggressively finding ways to proactively control costs that are impacting the entire grocery industry, and hiring and turnover are some of those places. Besides reducing turnover, we expect that Unicru will help us improve customer service and productivity."
As a key element of Pathmark's competitive strategy, Unicru will help the retailer consistently apply best hiring practices across locations, giving its managers more time to focus on customer service and store operations.
