COLTON, Calif. - Stater Bros. Markets said it recently distributed $150,000 in local assistance to 30 charitable organizations in San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties.
The funds were raised in partnership with a program operating in all 157 Stater Bros. supermarkets called Food For All. The program provides Stater Bros. customers with the opportunity to purchase a $1, $3, or $5 donation card, available at the checkout stand, while paying for their groceries.
Funds are used to create grants to local anti-hunger agencies that support the communities served by Stater Bros. Since 1987, Stater Bros. has raised over $2 million in this campaign.
Stater Bros. distributed a $5,000 Food For All grant check to such organizations as: Barstow Desert Manna Ministries; Redlands Family Service Association; and the Home of Neighborly Services in San Bernardino County; Hemet Valley Restart Shelter; Riverside Inland AIDS Project; and Lutheran Social Services in Riverside County; and Costa Mesa First Step House, Garden Grove Thomas House Temporary Shelter, and Orange Mental Health Association in Orange County, among many others.
