PARSIPPANY, N.J. - Kings Super Markets here is conducting consumer feedback panels in an effort to improve its business and customer service.
The program was announced to consumers through a full-page ad in Wednesday's Star-Ledger, which also stated everyone at Kings was "very happy" about parent company Marks & Spencer's decision to retain ownership of the chain. While the chain was up for sale, its legendary service slipped, leading to the activation of the consumer feedback panels.
"We know that Kings has just not been Kings," the ad read. "And for that we are truly sorry. Please know that even as you read this we are changing -- and listening has become our first order of business. Over the next few weeks we will be conducting Consumer Feedback Panels so we can prioritize our work based on what you have to say. We invite you to join us. And don't hold back. If you have feedback of any kind, please let our store managers, department manager or your favorite Kings associate know right away."
As a token of its appreciation, and a promise "to be your Kings once again," on Wednesday shoppers were given gifts of red roses.
