    Lawson Signs Multi-Million-Dollar Deal With Pathmark Stores

    ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Lawson Software, Inc. today announced that Pathmark Stores has signed a long-term contract for Lawson's Retail Enterprise Solution, including Retail Operations, Smart Notification, and Enterprise Performance Management.

PAUL, Minn. -- Lawson Software, Inc. today announced that Pathmark Stores has signed a long-term contract for Lawson's Retail Enterprise Solution, including Retail Operations, Smart Notification, and Enterprise Performance Management. Pathmark will use the Lawson solution to create a single framework that will support merchandising, streamline pricing and new items, and provide users with an exception-based management system.

    "Lawson's new software system will enhance our ability to source items from different methods of distribution and will provide a quick response to Pathmark's business needs. Pathmark's commitment to Lawson will result in an efficient use of data and enable us to meet our reporting requirements," said Art Whitney, e.v.p. of merchandising and logistics for Pathmark Stores.

    Pathmark operates in the densely populated New York-New Jersey and Philadelphia metropolitan areas that represent approximately 10 percent of the U.S. population. Lawson Retail Enterprise was developed specifically for high-volume retailers to improve net profitability by helping them to increase revenues, reduce costs, and more effectively deploy their workforce.

    Lawson Software, based in St. Paul, Minn., has offices and affiliates serving North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
