NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. and LANDOVER, Md. - In a move that it says will expand its product assortment for a variety of items including regional and ethnic food, baby care and beauty products, natural and organic items, pet supplies, and even electronics, Giant Food announced a partnership with neXpansion's "Endless Aisle" technology.
neXpansion, a provider of online grocery solutions, will facilitate Giant Special Deliveries, a service which will be accessible via a link on the Giant's website, which will allow customers to select from more than 30,000 items -- all from the convenience of their home. Items unavailable on the Giant Special Deliveries site can also be requested by completing an online request form.
The service will search for the item and respond to customers within 10 business days. On-screen instructions will enable shoppers to either search for a specific item or browse the broad assortment of products and categories. All purchases are shipped directly to the customer, primarily by Federal Express.
"At Giant Food, our shoppers' needs always come first," said Giant spokesman Barry Scher. "Now, with the addition of Giant Special Deliveries, customers can look to Giant to provide non-perishable products in an easy and convenient way."
A subsidiary division of Ahold USA, Giant Food operates 192 supermarkets in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia.
