MINNEAPOLIS - Distributor and retailer Supervalu on Monday reported that its Internet-based portal, SVHarbor, is now available to its retail customers and company-owned retail banners, providing easy access to enterprise solutions critical to their business operations. Currently, about 80 percent of Supervalu's retail customers previously served by the company's ValuNet enterprise system use the new business portal; 100 percent will be on line by June.
Through SVHarbor, retailers are able to access real-time data associated with product orders; retrieve business critical reports such as invoices and current pricing data; and receive region-specific news, customer service and other key operational communications via a secure, reliable Internet website.
"Over the past year, Supervalu has systematically built up and rolled out the capabilities and functionality of this enterprise solution across its network of retail customers, replacing our proprietary enterprise system with a more robust, cost-effective tool," said Mike Jackson,
Supervalu executive VP, and president and COO of Distribution Food Companies. "With SVHarbor, retailers -- whether they're a regional or national grocery chain -- can benefit from the seamless integration of superior technologies and innovative service offerings that this new business portal provides."
The next phase of the SVHarbor roll-out will focus on deploying applications for use by the vendor community, including online catalogs and promotional offer management, and new business applications that will further support retail and distribution functions through scheduling, budgeting, measurement and reporting and other work processes, according to the company.
