WASHINGTON, DC - Jim Koskan, corporate director of risk control at Minneapolis-based Supervalu, was recently appointed to OSHA's new National Advisory Committee on Ergonomics (NACE). He is the only food retail and wholesale representative on the 15-member committee, which aims to reduce repetitive-stress injuries, define best practices, and teach worker safety.
Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced the appointment on Dec. 3.
Koskan joins experts from academia, labor, and the medical and legal professions on a panel chartered to help OSHA accelerate the reduction of ergonomic injuries in the workplace.
Koskan was nominated by Supervalu, the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), and Food Distributors International (FDI).
