NASHUA, N.H. - Identico Systems on Monday announced that it has been selected by the California Grocers Association (CGA) to offer its True ID fraud prevention services under CGA's new Membership Access Program.

Identico's True ID system will be available to CGA members at a special rate. Retailers already using Identico's True ID system have reduced check cashing losses and identity fraud by an average of 80 percent, according to the company.

"Check cashing is an integral part of the grocery business and our members are challenged every day by check fraud," said Peter Larkin, president of the California Grocers Association. "We are always looking for innovative technology to help members reduce their fraud exposure, and Identico's True ID is not only extremely effective but it also has wide customer acceptance. True ID is applicable to virtually all of our members and has been proven to work seamlessly in day-to-day business."

True ID is already in use by CGA members WinCo Foods and JAX Markets, as well as supermarkets across the country from Winn-Dixie in the southeast to Brown & Cole in the northwest.
