JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Productivity Solutions Inc. (PSI) and BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. announced today that BJ's Wholesale Club has installed a PSI ACM 750 Self Checkout unit at BJ's Wholesale Club in Framingham, Mass.
The ACM solution makes self-checkout available to BJ's Members with either large or small orders. Members scan their items and -- without the need for a cashier -- pay with cash, credit cards or debit cards. BJ's will evaluate the success of this pilot location to determine whether to expand the program to other BJ's Wholesale Clubs.
"Based on the ACM's proven capability to handle 'warehouse sized' orders, we are piloting the ACM to test the self checkout option for our members," said Michael Wedge, EVP, Operations, BJ's Wholesale Club. "Self checkout provides another convenience for our Members while reinforcing our low price image. PSI's conveyor-based system, which verifies both weight and dimensions of every item scanned, also provides us with the tightest security available in the marketplace."
"The modular ACM self checkout product line offers flexible options that work equally well in non-grocery and grocery formats, which makes ACM self checkout available to more and more shoppers," said Bruce Failing, CEO of PSI.
