SAN FRANCISCO - DemandTec, provider of Demand Based Management software, on Thursday announced that D'Agostino Supermarkets, a leading New York-based grocery chain, has chosen to implement DemandTec Price Center throughout its entire chain of 23 stores in New York City and suburban Westchester County. D'Agostino will use Price Center to optimize pricing across its inventory of retail goods.
During an eight-week in-store implementation in its New York City locations, D'Agostino used DemandTec Price Center to match prices precisely with consumer preferences and measure item level net profitability. D'Agostino was able to dramatically increase sales and profit across its test stores.
"DemandTec's approach to Demand Based Management and its Price Center solution meets a critical need in grocery chain management that hasn't been addressed until now," said Nick D'Agostino, III, vice president of D'Agostino Supermarkets. "D'Agostino has always been determined to offer customers exceptional quality and superior service at the right prices. Especially today, as we face the intense competitive challenges of the current economy, the customer's need for quality and service at a fair price remains the key to our vision for success. Through DemandTec's DBM software, D'Agostino has found a reliable and effective way to raise profit and strengthen customer loyalty."
