Two of the food industry's top consultants have announced that they'll join forces to conduct a study that will result in the foodservice industry's first comprehensive evaluation and modeling of the supply chain. The team will combine activity-based costing methodology with distributor-supplied performance data to identify cost-reduction and profit enhancing supply, assortment and pricing opportunities.
Ron Paul, President of Technomic Inc. states that, "similar tools have been successfully leveraged in other industry
channels; the time is right for the foodservice industry to begin to use them."
According to Bill Bishop, president of Willard Bishop Consulting, Ltd., "Our two firms are exceptionally
well-qualified and ideally suited to lead this important initiative."
The study is slated to begin this November.
