    Shaw's Supermarkets Selects Eversave for Email List Building and Promotional Content

    Eversave, an e-marketing infrastructure company best known for building proprietary email lists and powering geographically-targeted Internet promotions, on Thursday announced that is has been selected by Shaw's Supermarkets to manage the company's in-house email database and power geographically-targeted promotions on the Shaw's web site (www.shaws.com).

    Eversave will use its customer acquisition technology, called CustomerConnect, to manage a customized in-house email database of Shaw's customers. Customers who have agreed to receive marketing materials from Shaw's will be able to specify types of products and offers of interest to them, allowing Shaw's to customize the offers it sends to those customers via email. Eversave's CustomerConnect technology is personalized to the user's demographic profile and shopping preferences, driving record-breaking response rates for sponsoring merchants.

    Eversave has also integrated the Shaw's Rewards Card program into its online promotions network. Effective immediately, over 100,000 New England residents who are currently Eversave members will replace their Eversave card, currently accepted by over 1,000 retailers in New England, with the Shaw's Rewards Card. Eversave's retail partners in New England now accept the Shaw's Rewards Card to redeem thousands of dollars worth of money-saving promotions. In addition to Shaw's current Rewards Card Partners, thousands of offers from brand name retailers, local specialty shops, restaurants and service providers will now be available on the Shaw's web site, www.shaws.com.

    "Our partnership with Eversave will allow Shaw's to significantly increase the value the Shaw's Rewards Card program brings to consumers everyday, and at the same time allows us to enhance the relationship we have with our customers," said Bernard Rogan, a spokesperson for Shaw's. "Shaw's customers will enjoy many valuable offers from New England's most popular restaurants, stores, and family entertainment events, and will be kept up to date on exciting events happening at Shaw's and Star Markets."

    Shaw's Supermarkets Inc. owns and manages 185 Shaw's and Star Market store locations and three distribution centers throughout the six New England states. The company serves more than four million customers each week and has nearly 30,000 associates. During the most recently completed fiscal year, total sales were nearly $ 4.0 billion. Shaw's is a wholly owned subsidiary of J Sainsbury plc of London, England.
