Albertsons-Safeway has named Justin Dye chief administrative officer of the recently combined company.
Jim Perkins, Acme Markets division president, will succeed Dye as COO of the company's East region; Dan Croce, VP of marketing and merchandising for Acme, will replace Perkins.
In his new role, Dye will lead the combined company's IT, real estate and corporative development, and supply chain operations, and will continue to oversee the integration of Safeway and Albertsons, the merger of which was finalized at the end of last month.
A former executive with Cerberus Capital Management, parent of Albertson’s LLC and New Albertson’s Inc., Dye became the company’s chief strategy officer in 2006 and more recently COO of New Albertson's Inc., in 2013.
Prior to his appointment as Acme's division president in 2013, Perkins served as director of operations for Albertson's LLC's Southern division beginning in 2006. He previously served with Giant Food as regional VP.
Croce joined Acme as a district manager in 2005. He was promoted to director of operations in 2008, and VP of operations in 2011. He was promoted to his current role in 2014.
“All three individuals are well-suited to their increased responsibilities,” noted Robert Edwards, president/CEO of the combined company. “Justin’s pivotal role in the formation of Albertson’s LLC along with his demonstrated ability to lead a broad range of administrative and operational functions positions him well for this larger role in the combined organization."
Edwards further noted that Perkins and Croce are "results-oriented retail veterans," adding that their leadership will position the East region and Acme for future success.
