    Schnucks Cuts 52 HQ Positions

    Stores not affected by layoffs, St. Louis-based grocer says

    Schnuck Markets Inc. has eliminated 52 positions in several departments and levels within the company’s headquarters.

    The company declined to offer specific details about which departments were affected. According to Schnucks Senior Communications Specialist Paul Simon, these layoffs represent less than one-half of 1 percent of Schnucks' overall workforce.

    Additionally, eight open positions at the main offices will not be filled. There were no positions eliminated at any of the stores.

    Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets Inc. operates 99 stores and 94 in-store pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.
