    Harris Teeter Launches 'Support Our Troops' Campaign

    All donations go to help USO, Wounded Warrior Project

    During the month of May, Harris Teeter is running its fourth annual Support Our Troops donation card campaign benefiting both the United Service Organizations (USO) and Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).

    Support Our Troops enables shoppers and associates of the Southeast regional grocer to donate $1, $3 or $5 at checkout, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly to the USO and WWP. Last year's campaign raised more than $1.1 million for the two nonprofit organizations.

    "Since May is Military Appreciation Month, it is the perfect time to show our nation's military that we are thankful for their service, strength and sacrifice," noted USO VP of Corporate Alliances Christy Hartsell.

    Matthews N.C.-based Harris Teeter, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Kroger Co., operates more than 230 stores and one fuel center in eight states and the District of Columbia, and employs about 28,000 associates.
