    Southeastern Grocers, Chef Curtis Stone Team on Meal Program

    Ingredients for each recipe cost under $10

    Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Bi-Lo, Harveys and Winn-Dixie stores, has formed a partnership with Food Network celebrity chef Curtis Stone to launch "Cooking with Curtis for under $10." The program aims to help consumers eat well inexpensively with fresh, seasonal and affordable meal solutions that can easily be made from scratch at home.

    Cards featuring unique recipes created by Stone are available in all of the company's stores, in the weekly ad circulars and online. A different fresh, seasonal ingredient will be spotlighted each month, along with four simple recipes, with the ingredients for each costing less than $10.

    The need for affordable options in the area of fresh healthy meals is especially important for Southeastern Grocers, since about 25 percent of its customers rely on food assistance.

    Stone's meals and other cooking tips can also be found on the Bi-Lo, Harveys and Winn-Dixie websites.

    Southeastern Grocers employs more than 66,000 associates in about 756 grocery stores, 145 liquor stores and 504 in-store pharmacies throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina.
