Southeastern Grocers has hired Anthony Hucker as its new COO, according to a published report. Most recently president and COO of St. Louis-based Schnucks, Hucker has also been president of Giant Food of Landover and a member of Ahold USA’s executive board.
“I am confident that Anthony will make a significant contribution to the performance of Southeastern Grocers,” said Ian McLeod, president and CEO of the Jacksonville, Fla.-based company.
Prior to his tenure at Giant, Hucker spent seven years at Walmart in a range of executive positions, both in the United States and abroad, and then worked for a decade at Germany-based international food retailer Aldi in various leadership roles, reported the Daily Record, in Jacksonville, noting that he was a member of the original startup team that launched Aldi UK.
Southeastern Grocers operates the Winn-Dixie, Bi-Lo and Harveys banners.
