On the heels of three of the top four student teams competing in the National Grocer Association’s (NGA) case competition selecting Rosie as their e-commerce provider, Vernal, Utah-based Davis Food & Drug has also signed with the Ithaca, N.Y.-based company as its online shopping partner.
In addition to the students' recommendations and its own internal due diligence, Davis Food & Drug owners also cited Rosie's strong partnership with wholesaler Associated Food Stores, low start-up costs, and a strong track record of successful e-commerce deployments with independent retailers across the U.S.
After vetting potential e-commerce partners for nearly two years, C.J. Davis of Davis Food & Drug explained: "We wanted a partner who understood our market and had the experience to help us grow our family-owned business. We looked at all the options available in the market and determined that Rosie was the best choice. The student recommendations reinforced this decision," added Davis, "with the majority of the top teams acknowledging Rosie as the leading e-Commerce provider" for independent grocers.
“Additionally, we like that Rosie is an independent, employee-owned company,” continued Davis. “We are a second-generation family grocer with four locations and Rosie is in alignment with our values. Their experience launching some of the most profitable e-Commerce programs in the country sets us up for success as we implement online shopping at Davis Food & Drug.”
Arizona State University’s (ASU) team was one of two finalists from the nationwide competition and recommended Rosie as part of their proposal to Davis Food & Drug. Ivyenna Davis (no relation) and Logan Rohloff of ASU, stated in their presentation, “As a premium service with a focus on convenience and affordability, Rosie provides the most flexible pricing options and comprehensive features that were the best we found in our research. Rosie’s flexible and customizable software allows Davis Food & Drug to configure its online shopping program however it desires. The strength in Rosie’s software options sets it apart from its competitors.”
Davis Food & Drug operates four stores in La Verkin, Vernal, Roosevelt, and West Valley, Utah.
