In tandem with being named the official grocery partner of the Sacramento Kings, Raley’s Family of Fine Stores will round out its brand – and healthy offerings – in a new direction with two concession kiosks in the new Golden 1 Center presently under construction.
Raley's arena kiosks will feature locally sourced fruits and vegetables, fresh juices and other healthy snack options.
“We look forward to partnering with the Kings to enhance our service and support for the greater Sacramento community,” said Michael Teel, owner and CEO of the W. Sacramento-based regional grocery chain. “Our partnership will enable Raley’s to extend our reach outside of our store locations; throughout the region, into more communities, educating and extending food options for everyone, allowing individuals to make the choices right for them and their health.”
Michael Teel is a member of the Golden 1 Center Food Sourcing Steering Committee, which is dedicated to helping the Kings identify local producers committed to sustainability and quality. Julie Teel will also work with the Kings Foundation to extend the #DoGood spirit throughout the region.
As part of the new partners' commitment to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals within the communities they serve, Raley’s and the Kings Foundation will also partner on projects targeting food literacy, regional gardens and nutritional resources.
“This new partnership with Raley’s is an extension of our commitment to sustainability and demonstrates the impact that local businesses can have on a community,” said Kings President Chris Granger. “Together, we’ll be able to highlight local sources that offer high-quality produce and promote the benefits of healthy selections in and out of the arena.”
The Sacramento Kings are scheduled to begin using the arena for the 2016–17 NBA season.
The privately owned, family operated Raley's operates 122 stores in northern California and Nevada under four banners: Raley’s Supermarkets, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source.
