Albertsons Companies Inc. has struck an agreement to use MyWebGrocer’s (MWG) Digital Experience Platform to launch e-commerce operations at its Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, United Supermarkets, Acme Market and Star Market banners.
Albertsons' new alliance with MWG will offer customers in the banners’ respective markets – which include Chicago, New England, Philadelphia and West Texas – both click-and-collect and delivery options with their online grocery purchases.
The agreement expands on Albertsons’ existing partnership with the Winooski, Ver.-based e-commerce and digital marketing solutions provider. The retailer first selected MyWebGrocer’s software and services in February 2012 to power its digital channel with shopping trip planning features and digital circular capabilities.
Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons Companies Inc. operates stores across 35 states and Washington, D.C., under 19 banners, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen and Carrs.
