Buehler Food Market Inc., based in Wooster, Ohio, is closing its Brunswick, Ohio, store, effective Oct. 21. Customers can continue to shop the other two stores located in Medina County.
About 125 employees will be affected by the closing, but Buehler’s will work with them to transfer to other locations or find employment with another retailer, said Dan Shanahan, presiden and COO of Buehler’s.
“We will be inviting select retailers to a job recruiting event to interview and recruit our employees who may choose to stay in Brunswick,” he added. Employees who are not placed in other Buehler’s locations will receive a severance package.
Buehler’s has recently added and remodeled several stores, and has to make some decisions about underperforming locations. The Brunswick location opened in 2007.
Buehler Food Market is operated by the family-owned E&H Family Group and operates 14 Buehler’s Fresh Foods supermarkets and 19 ACE Hardware stores.
