Frederick Ivan Albrecht, longtime chairman of the board of the F.W. Albrecht Grocery Co. and grandson of the founder of the Akron, Ohio-based Acme Fresh Markets grocery chain, died earlier this week.
The retired grocery store executive was 90. He had 50 years of service with the company that was founded by his grandfather in 1891 and stayed connected to it after his retirement at age 65.
Albrecht is survived by his wife, Francia; children Steve (Acme Fresh Markets' president), Heather, Ivan, Gwyneth Stites, Tatiana Harris, and Monica Kridler; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
