Orland Park, Ill., Jewel-Osco Bows Health Clinic
A Jewel-Osco store in Orland Park, Ill., will play home to a new Physicians Prompt Care Express clinic that will offer a convenient health care option for busy families and customers. The in-store health facility marks Supervalu’s Franklin Park, Ill.-based subsidiary the first point of entry into Chicagoland’s retail medical clinic business while establishing the second ambulatory care site operated by Prompt Care Physician Centers, LLC.
Board-certified Prompt Care Express physicians will offer high-quality, convenient and affordable medical services from a newly constructed health clinic just steps away from the full-service pharmacy inside the Jewel-Osco store at 9352 West 159th Street
“Access to quality and affordable health care is one of the top issues facing our communities today,” said Chris Dimos, president of Jewel-Osco Pharmacies. “[By] integrating the new medical clinic into our store, we aim to eliminate some of the barriers - like cost, work and school schedules, and even proximity - that can block our customers’ ability to receive needed medial attention.”
Physicians Prompt Care Express will accept most major insurance plans, including Medicare. Cash-paying customers can expect to pay less than the total cost of a typical hospital emergency room visit.
Clinic services will be available Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. No appointments are necessary, and patients will have the option of pre-registering online to save time.
There are 183 Jewel-Osco combination stores in Illinois, Iowa and Indiana, and approximately 170 Jewel-Osco in-store pharmacies in Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. In addition to full-service prescription services, Jewel-Osco Pharmacy provides immunizations, diabetes care services and medication therapy management services, which are performed by specially trained Jewel-Osco pharmacists.
