For the first time, Oscar Mayer is allowing fans to enter for a chance to “lease” the brand’s iconic Wienermobile through Twitter.
Fans can enter by tweeting with the #Tweet2Lease hashtag through Feb. 7; one winner will gain eight hours of hands-on access to the vehicle, with the drivers, known as “Hotdoggers,” serving as personal chauffeurs. The winner will also receive $500 in cash.
"Being the first car available for lease exclusively on Twitter was far too big a distinction to go to any old sedan or sport-utility vehicle," said Tom Bick, senior director of integrated marketing and advertising at Oscar Mayer, a brand of Kraft Foods Group. "Only a 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels, the Wienermobile, would do."
The Tweet2Lease sweepstakes will be supported by a Wienermobile "car commercial" posted to the Oscar Mayer YouTube channel and promoted through paid advertising placements, social media seeding and public relations efforts.
