Pathmark’s Multicultural Arts Festival at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan this weekend will offer entertainment from professional community groups representing various cultures. Event attendees will be able to sample a range of traditional foods and have the opportunity to win a number of prizes.
The weekend fun starts at noon on Saturday, June 5, with a performance by Casym Steel Drums, followed by contributions from Sunrise Chinese Dancers, Niall O’Leary Irish Step Dancers, Samba Novo and more.
On tap as host of the festivities on Sunday, June 6, is LaMega Radio’s JI Star, who will oversee a Latin Dance Spectacular featuring such popular Hispanic dances as the meringue and salsa. Also on Sunday, Cano Estremera with the Copacabana band, Raul Acosta & Oro Solido, and Groupo Extreme will perform.
On both days, the festival runs until 4 p.m.
