Internet grocer Peapod said yesterday that its shoppers will earn additional savings instantly on select purchases, due to a partnership with Concept Shopping, Inc. The savings will be pre-selected for each Peapod shopper based on his or her needs and preferences.
Concept Shopping's Automatic Marketing program chooses, delivers, and awards personalized savings to Peapod customers based on their earlier purchases. The company collaborates with Peapod and its marketing partners to create and execute personal marketing campaigns that help Peapod shoppers save more.
Peapod shoppers will find out about the additional savings as they ready their orders. No coupons or extra effort will be needed to earn the savings, which will automatically be applied when the order is finalized.
"Utilizing Concept Shopping's unique ability to preselect relevant, extra savings for shoppers is another example of how Peapod continues to use innovation to save its customers time and money," said Peapod c.e.o. Andrew Parkinson.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Ahold, Skokie, Ill.-based Peapod works in partnership with Ahold USA supermarket companies such as Stop & Shop and Giant Food.
Lisle, Ill.-based Concept Shopping is personal marketing firm that aims to improve sales for retailers and marketers via marketing programs based on the purchase history of individual shoppers.
