Brigantine Media will release “It’s About Time: Find 5 Extra Hours Each Week” by Progressive Grocer contributor Harold C. Lloyd on May 1. The new book, which will retail for $19.95, will be available from Brigantine Media, Amazon.com, and through Baker & Taylor.
In “It’s About Time,” Lloyd, a well-known speaker to the retail industry whose work background includes having been president of a 1,000-employee company, the owner of a franchised business and a college instructor, helps businesspeople master the critical skill of time management. “When you learn to manage your schedule using the techniques in the book,” he notes, “it’s as if you’ve found five extra hours each week.”
Among the techniques discussed is starting and ending each day with a “Disappearing Act” to help organize work, and creating and following “To-Do Today” lists that really keep businesspeople on schedule. Also included are tips on how to use everyday management tasks to free up more time at work. “It’s About Time” also shows how businesspeople can improve delegating skills, run meetings more effectively, and recruit and hire staff to maximize time management and take control of their time on the job.
The book illustrates the careers of two fictional managers, Alex and Logan, whose difficulties with time management lead to big work problems. Lloyd’s techniques help them find their extra five hours per week so they can be more successful managers.
