PG Daily News Evolves to Real-time Posting

Progressive Grocer this week will begin posting its news stories on its home page in real time as a natural extension of its legacy of providing the food industry with reliable, need-to-know information and intelligence, alongside the rollout of a new website that was unveiled earlier this summer.

“Our evolution to real-time news delivery represents the latest iteration of our brand’s leadership position and ongoing mission to inform and enlighten the trade in a variety of ways,” said PG Editor-in-Chief Meg Major. “The migration to real-time news posting further underscores our commitment to expanding our digital editorial platform, including our new website, interactive webcasts and face-to-face events, as well as our sleek and sustainable digital edition that complements our stalwart monthly print publication.

“In an increasingly digital world,” Major added, “real-time news updates ensures that we are providing the timeliest information possible for an increasingly sophisticated audience.”

By providing PG’s expanding digital subscriber base with the up-to-the-minute news delivery, site visitors will now have access to the latest on-demand information on a variety of critical issues housed on its relaunched website, which features a new look, easier navigation, new features and greater integration with our sister Stagnito Media sites, CSNews.com and GourmetRetailer.com, all of which provide supermarket industry executives a greater range and depth of category and topic-specific news, business intelligence, analysis, and new product information.

While daily e-newsletters will continue to be delivered to PG’s e-newsletter subscribers each morning, Progressivegrocer.com will continuously update on regular intervals throughout the day.

In addition to real-time daily news, PG’s new website now features more Top Stories, Special Features, Online Exclusive Content, Product Category Sections, Expert Columns, a searchable New Product Showcase, Research, Online Polls, Industry Resources, and all the articles from our print and digital editions.

We’re not done yet. PG’s digital platform will continue to evolve over the next few months to incorporate video features, photo galleries and social media platforms, along with other improvements that will follow after a bit more nipping and tucking to customize our site as the premier destination for grocery industry professionals.
