    PG Editor-in-Chief Joins SupermarketGuru.com, SG Newsflash and Koodies

    Progressive Grocer Editor-in-Chief Michelle Moran has resigned her position become editorial director of SupermarketGuru.com, Koodies.net, and SG Newsflash, which were founded by food industry analyst Phil Lempert, CEO of The Lempert Report and SupermarketGuru.com as well as a Progressive Grocer columnist.

    Progressive Grocer Editor-in-Chief Michelle Moran has resigned her position become editorial director of SupermarketGuru.com, Koodies.net, and SG Newsflash, which were founded by food industry analyst Phil Lempert, CEO of The Lempert Report and SupermarketGuru.com as well as a Progressive Grocer columnist. Moran, who was also editor-in-chief of PG sister publication The Gourmet Retailer, will embark on her new role May 10.

    “Her extensive experience and broad food and gourmet industry knowledge set her apart; and she's ahead of the curve on technology, the Internet and social networks, which fits with SupermarketGuru’s mission to bring consumers the latest and best discoveries in food trends, products, safety and shopping tips,” noted Lempert.

    Moran has worked for both consumer and trade publications for over 20 years. She was an editor for Nielsen Business Media for the past 10 years, during which time she received such recognition as the American Business Media Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards.

    She founded Retail 2020, the gourmet and food industry’s first educational conference designed specifically for independent retailers, and is a speaker in the housewares, grocery and specialty food industries.

    According to Moran, the new position “keeps me in contact with the pulse of the business and provides the opportunity to express to consumers both the wealth of information retailers can provide them, as well as featuring products that would be perfect for home use, including housewares — a new addition for Supermarketguru.com.”

    With more than 2.5 million visitors annually, SupermarketGuru.com gives consumers access to breaking food industry news, health and nutrition tips and information. In addition, visitors are invited to join the SupermarketGuru.com Consumer Panel where they can offer their own comments.
