P&G Launches Odor-Eliminating Candles Line

CINCINNATI, Ohio - CPG manufacturer Procter & Gamble next month will begin shipping Febreze Candles, which use a patented technology to remove unpleasant odors from the air while simultaneously releasing one of five different scents.

The launch of Febreze Candles brings P&G back to its roots; candles were the first items the company sold, with its initial selections developed by William Procter in 1835.

"The Febreze brand is a pioneer in odor-elimination technology going back to when we launched Febreze as the first fabric refresher in 1997," said Jorge S. Mesquita, president, Global Home Care and P&G Professional.

Nationally syndicated radio host Delilah, whose program reaches eight million listeners each week, is working with Febreze to promote the candles. The partnership, which begins this month, will give callers will have a chance to sample Febreze Candles before they hit store shelves in July. Delilah's listeners will also be invited to Friday Night Girls' Club events in five markets across the country, where they can enjoy Delilah's program and Febreze Candles while socializing with others in their community.

Febreze Candles will begin shipping in late July 2007 with a suggested retail price of $6.99 - $7.99. They will be offered in five scents, including: Meadows & Rain, Spring & Renewal, Linen & Sky, Vanilla & Refresh, and Apple Spice & Delight.
