Most Progressive Features
The store design conveys a focus on food expertise. The prepared foods lineup features Schnucks’ expert chefs and includes a pizzeria, Sandwich Express featuring Boar’s Head products and a Schnucks Cooks demonstration station. In addition to traditional fresh foods selections such as produce, there’s a cheese island, an olive bar, an aged beef cooler, an expansive wine and liquor selection, and a wine-tasting counter.
LED lighting highlights product color and texture, and architectural features. Oriented strand board, a sustainable wood particle board, and other materials with high-recycled content were used for signage and decor. Green building systems, including water-conserving plumbing features in the restrooms, heat reclaim tanks that capture and use waste heat to help heat water, and motion sensor control lighting in parts of the store were implemented to make this a truly eco-friendly store.
