MyWebGrocer, leading provider of digital solutions to the grocery and consumer packaged goods industries, recently added the Midwest division of
Piggly Wiggly, which operates 102 grocery stores throughout Wisconsin and Illinois has launched a completely integrated digital platform across web, mobile, and social media channels.
The grocer worked with MyWebGrocer’s to deploy the vendor’s digital shopping solutions, which give customers access to planning tools including online circulars, personalized shopping lists, coupons and recipes.
“Using the internet, mobile and social tools to round out our consumer’s shopping experience, is a major priority for Piggly Wiggly,” said Bill Bell, director, information technology for Piggly Wiggly Midwest. “The MyWebGrocer solutions offer us a very cost effective and functionally rich way to accomplish this initiative.”
The solutions include:
Mobile: Piggly Wiggly will be able to provide customers with the ability to shop the circular on their mobile device. The planning tools easily integrate from computer to mobile, so items added to a shopping list on one platform are automatically updated on the other. Shoppers will be able to access Piggly Wiggly’s planning tools via an Android, iPhone or any other smart phone.
Social Media: Piggly Wiggly customers will also have the option to access the weekly circular via Piggly Wiggly’s Facebook page to find specials at their local store. Shoppers will be able to click on the special items and add them to their shopping list or find recipes for on sale items.
