Piggly Wiggly Stores Sets 'Everyday Savings' Pricing Scheme

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- Piggly Wiggly here said on Friday it was slashing thousands of prices in a new campaign it was calling "Everyday Savings."

The chain, operator of 95 supermarkets in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa, said the new pricing structure complements already aggressively priced weekly advertised retail features it runs, and will effect every department.

Brands that will be included in the price cuts are: Tide, Charmin, and Minute Maid, as well as other products by Kellogg, Kraft, and General Mills, to name a few, the chain said.

The retailer noted that it plans to continue offering high-quality meats, such as Certified Angus Beef, Farmland natural pork products, and Gerber Amish brand poultry, and will expand its fresh produce and delicatessen lines.

Fresh Brands, Inc. is a supermarket retailer and grocery wholesaler through corporate-owned retail, franchised, and independent supermarkets. The company currently has 69 franchised Piggly Wiggly supermarkets, 26 corporate-owned Piggly Wiggly’s, three distribution centers, and a centralized bakery/deli production facility.
