Price Chopper Supermarkets/Golub Corp. has hired Jason Resner as its VP, meat merchandising. Reporting directly to VP, fresh merchandising Keith Frosceno, Resner will oversee all aspects of category business planning and management, supplier negotiations and partnerships, promotional planning, and market growth strategies for the Northeast regional supermarket chain’s meat department.
Resner (left) comes to Price Chopper with more than 20 years of experience, having worked for Jewel-Osco in the Chicago area and Supervalu in Minnesota. His most recent role was Supervalu’s corporate director of meat and produce.
Based in Schenectady, N.Y., the Golub Corp. owns and operates 132 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The family-owned company employs more than 22,000 associates who collectively own 52 percent of its privately held stock.
