Produce Groups Launch Traceability Initiative Survey

The produce businesses and associations facilitating the Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) have released a new online survey to assess the extent of the industry’s adoption of PTI milestones.

The survey, whicfh will close Friday, April 5, is open to all businesses in the produce supply chain and should requore no more than 10 minutes of time to complete, according to PTI.

The Produce Traceability Initiative, sponsored by Canadian Produce Marketing Association, GS1 US, Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association, is designed to help the industry maximize the effectiveness of current traceback procedures, while developing a standardized industry approach to enhance the speed and efficiency of traceability systems for the future. The PTI’s vision outlines a course of action to achieve supply chain-wide adoption of electronic traceability of every case of produce by the year 2012.
