Clean and Eat

Formulated to strip pesticides, wax, contaminants, bacteria and debris from produce, Eat Cleaner, is made of plant-derived, FDA-approved ingredients and is lab-tested effective in killing up to 99.9 percent E.coli and Salmonella. In addition, the product actually increases the shelf life of produce by up to 200 percent and helps prevent immediate browning, according to the Newport Beach, Calif.-based company, which notes that both its spray and biodegradable wipes contain no alcohol or chlorine, making them safe to use in cleaning countertops, cutting boards and cooking utensils. The suggested retail price is $3.99 for a bottle of the spray or a 10-pack of the wipes, the latter of which can also be used to clean hands before eating.
