Progressive Grocer Extends Deadline for Tech Award Entries

Progressive Grocer has extended its submission deadline for its Technology Innovation Awards to Monday, Dec. 10.

Technology vendors, retailers, and other industry members can nominate food retailers in recognition of an outstanding technology implementation that overcame challenges, was innovative, produced verifiable results and achieved specified business goals during a calendar year.

Implementation must have been or is projected to be completed between Jan. 1, 2012 and Nov. 31, 2012. Winning retailers will be honored during the NRF Convention & Expo, Jan. 13-16, 2013.

Awards will be given in four categories:

  • In-Store Systems: Given to a grocer for a technology-based solution involving technology used to enhance the operations of the brick and mortar store, including both associate- and customer-facing systems (POS systems, back office systems, information/ordering kiosks, digital displays, DSD and receiving systems, and hand held devices used by store employees)
  • Enterprise/Marketing: For solutions involving company-wide, often mission-critical systems, including financial reporting systems, ERP systems, workforce management and HR technology, and network infrastructures, as well as technology-based marketing and merchandising solutions.
  • Supply Chain/Logistics: For solutions involving the movement of products and product information throughout the supply chain, including warehouse management systems, inventory management systems, transportation management systems, and related hardware, such as handheld scanners, voice-directed picking systems, etc.
  • Online/Mobile: For solutions related to a retailer's customer-facing online, social media, and mobile initiatives.
