STEP THREE: INNOVATION and RESULTS

This section focuses on the positive impact over the last twelve months your category management program has had on your retail customers' efforts to build stronger competitive differentiation and increase sales and market share.

How did your category leadership innovation support customers' needs and build sales overall in the category? Please submit a detailed synopsis of key innovations in your category management efforts, along with retail customer testimonials if possible, on the effectiveness of those efforts.

[If you choose to include retail testimonials, please include contact information from the retailer, so that PG may confirm the testimonial or follow up with brief questions.]

Here are some specific questions that might help you to construct your synopsis:

• Did your efforts help grow total category sales, as well as your own?

• Did they help open new accounts? Did they invigorate a dull or maturing category?

• What new programs, technologies, business systems, merchandising schemes, or promotional tactics did you employ?

• How have you reacted to retailer and consumer demands, and market conditions?

Upon request, your information will be held in the strictest confidence, and retail account names will not be published.

After you click "send," you must submit a written summary in a Microsoft Word document of 800 words or less in order to be considered for an award. If you are not ready to send you have until 7/1/09 to do so to:

categorycaptains@progressivegrocer.com

Please put your company name in the subject heading, and also include a hi-res jpeg of your product shots (300 dpi).
